Creativity for Business Success

Creativity for Business Success

Creativity for Business Success with Clare Bowditch was in Bendigo back in August with the Victorian Small Business Festival.

Although that is a number of months ago now I recently went over my notes as a refresher.

Clare is just one of my heroes whose work contributed to creating some of the momentum behind establishing Create Business.

Clare Bowditch is the founder of Big Hearted Business, where she teaches creative people about business and business people about creativity in ways that make sense. She has been mentoring business people for the past 10 years and also happens to be an ARIA award-winning songwriter, and a Logie-nominated actor.

My key take-away from Clare’s presentation – and perhaps they aren’t really new learnings but affirming my beliefs in how business can be done:

Play & Enjoyment = Learning & Change

Solving a Problem = Business

Life is hard. We need creativity.

Creativity finds way to make your contribution in the world.

Be bold.

Being creative is being uncomfortable.

Innovation comes through everyone in your business having opportunity to play and have their own projects.

She also spoke at length how how she created her community – her marketing network so that she can reach out. She communicates with authenticity and integrity, with the aim of attracting people who she wants to work with. She uses good clear story telling and always gives something incredible.
